FanDuel – a fantasy sports company – will be offering a contest that will pay winners in cryptocurrency. A similar game was created early this year by the same company. The game was called Bitcoin Bowl. The winner in the said game was given 1 bitcoin as a prize. This February 22 will see the launch of Crypto Cup – another FanDuel game where prizes will be given in Dash or DigitalDash coin.
CryptoCup will have two contests. One contest allows anyone to join at no cost. The other contest requires players to pay a $3 entry fee. However, entry fees are to be collected in traditional US currency and not in cryptocurrency. The top winners of the paid contest can expect to receive 15 Dash. The player who comes in second place will receive 10 Dash, while the third placer will receive 5 Dash. The fourth placer will receive 4 Dash, and the fifth placer can expect to receive 3 Dash.
Winners will need to have a Dash wallet address as this is the intended means for the contest organizers to send in the prizes. Users can utilize exchanges that supports Dash. Originally generated from the source code of bitcoin, Dash is a peer-to-peer open source cryptocurrency launched back in 2014 as XCoin. Currently, a single Dash has a $690 value. It currently ranks as the twelfth cryptocurrency in terms of market cap. For the past year, its value rose to more than 3,000%. According to Andy Giancamilli, the CFO of FanDuel, innovation is the reason for their cryptocurrency prize payout. He declared, “Our first cryptocurrency contest was a new experience and well-received by our users, so we wanted to continue to offer this unique prizing option,” he says. “We are at the forefront of the sports industry, so whether it’s Bingo or cryptocurrency as a prize, our goal is to innovate our contests and prizes to give more people more ways to play and win on FanDuel.”
